Abstract
A Printed Circuit board (PCB) is designed to mount and
interconnect various electronic components by tracks which
are imprinted from copper sheets. During manual inspection
of PCB defect there is a more possibility of difficulties in
accurate determination of defect presence. This necessitates
the automatic inspection of PCB in the aspect of quantitative
and qualitative assessment otherwise it results in complete
failure of circuit. This paper developed an automatic
inspection of PCB board defect by applying enhanced fuzzy
logic based PCA approach before the etching process. It
detects the presence of defects by producing the result in form
of degree of membership of defect (i.e) higher membership
value represents higher degree of defect presence.
